Bad Cat Amplifiers is delighted to announce its collaboration with the esteemed guitar instructor, Tomo Fujita.

With a distinguished career spanning over three decades as a professional guitarist, Tomo Fujita has solidified his position as a prominent figure in the music industry. Since 1993, he has also served as a faculty member at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.

At the core of Tomo’s teaching philosophy lies the belief that music extends far beyond technical proficiency; it is a medium for emotional expression. He imparts upon his students the importance of infusing every musical phrase, regardless of genre—be it blues, jazz, funk,
or rock—with genuine sentiment.

While Tomo has resided in the United States for the past thirty years, he maintains a strong connection to his native Japan, constantly engaging with fellow musicians and the thriving music scene.

His visits back home for brief tours occur two to three times annually, where his instructional books and videos, published in the Japanese language, have garnered an impressive readership, with over 160,000 copies sold to Japanese guitar enthusiasts.

Tomo Fujita’s exceptional talent has led him to collaborate with renowned musicians such as Will Lee, Steve Gadd, Bernard Purdie, Steve Jordan, Susan Tedeschi, Phil Collins, John Mayer, James Gadson, Travis Carlton, James Genus, Kenwood Dennard, Darryl Jones, Lemar Carter, Paul
Jackson, and Janek Gwizdala. Beyond his solo performances, Tomo also enjoys joining forces with other notable artists, including Ronnie Earl, Coco Montoya, Eric Gales, Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, and Matt Schofield.

Over the years, Tomo has nurtured numerous exceptional players through his role as an instructor. Among his most notable former students is the renowned musician John Mayer, with whom he maintains a close relationship to this day.
